- When looking for inspiration for your perfect holiday beauty looks, why not look to the past. Re-create your favorite era by following these easy steps focused on adding holiday glamour with a blast from the past with 2 different looks. Hollywood Glamour- Holiday Glamour is all about Red Lips and a great lash to accentuate the eyes. Using a crème foundation followed with a translucent powder will add that on-screen makeup effect that was so famous. This is a bit of a heavier application followed with blush on the cheeks and liquid liner along the lash line. Define your lips with a lip liner and add a bright red to the center. Skip the gloss because this look is all about being completely matte. Modern Tip: Apply a crème eyeshadow on the lid followed with an index finger full of glitter.
- Birth of Venus: For this look skip the foundation and use a tinted moisturizer. Use a taupe shadow on the lid to brighten the eyes and add a dab of Vaseline for a sheen look. Use lengthening mascara in brown to coat the lashes without a heavy application. Apply a pink tone blush only on apples the apple of the cheeks to add a natural flush, and follow wit a cherry lip balm like rosebud salve. This look is all about being natural with a natural inner glow.

Hair guru Nathaniel Hawkins shared his holiday go-to tips with us!
- Treat yourself! There are a bounty of blow-dry bars and styling bars that offer blow-outs and updos at a decent price – take advantage of them and treat yourself to little pampering that won’t break the bank. And, don’t forget that you can go to your regular stylist to get a special look; take a red carpet photo of your favorite celebrity or look from Fashion Week and have your go-to guy or gal recreate it for you.
- Make your blowouts last. Be sure to have the tools on hand to make a blow out last for a few days after treating yourself to a professionalstyle. Use a dry shampoo to absorb the oil in your hair, leaving it fresh and looking new; or put your hair up into a simple, yet elegant updo – you can never go wrong with a loose bun or low chignon.
- Take your hair from day to night. When you are getting ready for the workday, style your hair in a way that makes it easy to take your daytime ‘do into a holiday stunner. For example, after washing apply a styling mousse; dry your hair about 80% and use a round brush to smooth and style your hair. Skip using hair spray or any finishings products that could turn oily. After work, lightly mist your hair with a heat protecting spray and use a medium sized curling iron while taking vertical sections. The result is beautiful, soft waves that are perfect for evening and only take a few minutes to achieve.
