Make-up pro Kim Gray shared her Holiday tips with us, try some of them out for yourself!
- The holidays are a festive time and your makeup should reflect the joy of the season. Ordinairly, I stay away from shimmer and sparkle in makeup. However, the holidays are a time to incorporate shimmer and sparkle into you makeup routine. If you're attending a party, apply shimmer shadow to your lids. In order to avoid the clownish look, apply the shimmer to the lid only and leave the brow bone naked. If a shimmer lid is too much for you, use a shimmer eyeliner or a boldly colored eyeliner. When your eyes are bright and bold keep your lips nude and subltle.
- The holidays are also a great time to try a red lip. Many women feel they cant wear a red lip but that is the furthest thing from the truth. There are blue-based reds, orange-reds, and pink-based reds that can fit any skin color and undertone. The key to a perfect red lip application is being precise and neat. A good way to ensure a precise red lip is to use a small angle brush like the MAC #266. Dip the brush into the red lipstick and line the lip with the color that your are going to apply. After lining the lip, fill in the lip with the same color. If you prefer, you can line the lip with a matching red lip liner pencil filling in the entire lip with the liner then go over with the lipstick color. Once the lip is filled in, blot with a tissue and re-apply. Voila you have a sultry, sexy red lip for the holidays!
