Hair guru Nathaniel Hawkins shared his holiday go-to tips with us!
- Treat yourself! There are a bounty of blow-dry bars and styling bars that offer blow-outs and updos at a decent price - take advantage of them and treat yourself to little pampering that wont break the bank. And, dont forget that you can go to your regular stylist to get a special look; take a red carpet photo of your favorite celebrity or look from Fashion Week and have your go-to guy or gal recreate it for you.
- Make your blowouts last. Be sure to have the tools on hand to make a blow out last for a few days after treating yourself to a professionalstyle. Use a dry shampoo to absorb the oil in your hair, leaving it fresh and looking new; or put your hair up into a simple, yet elegant updo you can never go wrong with a loose bun or low chignon.
- Take your hair from day to night. When you are getting ready for the workday, style your hair in a way that makes it easy to take your daytime do into a holiday stunner. For example, after washing apply a styling mousse; dry your hair about 80% and use a round brush to smooth and style your hair. Skip using hair spray or any finishings products that could turn oily. After work, lightly mist your hair with a heat protecting spray and use a medium sized curling iron while taking vertical sections. The result is beautiful, soft waves that are perfect for evening and only take a few minutes to achieve.
