BIOGRAPHY

Celebrity hairstylist Ric Pipino began his career as a stylist in native Sydney, Australia. Observing his older brother, Marc Pipino, Ric was mesmerized by the artistry of cutting and styling hair. At a young age Ric devoted his time to learning the craft and quickly became a leading stylist in Australia. He then traveled to London to train in an advanced program at the renowned Schumi salon. The young stylist soon caught the attention of fashion editors and became a creative force in editorial fashion shoots for magazines, such as British Vogue & Harpers Bazzar.

In 1981, Ric arrived in New York City, the veritable hotbed of creativity and fashion. By then, Marc Pipino had partnered with Richard Buccheri to invent Pipino-Buccheri. Here, Ric polished his reputation as a sought-after stylist in the NYC editorial world and established an impressive roster of editorials, celebrity clientele, models and other tastemakers.

In 2003, reeling from rave reviews and wanting to expand and build his team, the enthusiastic shear master opened Pipino Salon in Miami’s Shore Club.

In May 2009, he created Pipino Nolita. Considered a chic, hidden jewel-box, this beauty shop on Centre Market Place is one of the trendiest salons in NYC today.
