Deemed as one of New York’s newest most sought after up and coming makeup artists to watch, Los Angeles transplant Gilbert Soliz is turning the heads of fashion photographers and editors alike.

Unique in his style and aesthetic, Gilbert’s brushes have graced some of the the faces of fashion’s biggest influencers. He has been touted as “much more than an artist”, given his innate ability to craft bespoke makeup designs that culminate a sense of glamour, all the while being skillfully and meticulously styled in such a way that only a well seasoned atelier could do.

The very nature of his talent would only lead him to work in today’s largest breathing editorial, Fashion Week. Gilbert has shed his creative light on some of the biggest names in fashion. Additionally his range spans from working on the set of America’s Next Top Model to exploring the craft of makeup artistry in Paris at the Make Up For Ever Academy.

Currently residing in New York, he contributes as a Lead Artist to cosmetic super giant, Sephora, his artistic direction to the Sephora PRO Beauty Team affords him the opportunities to partner with their internal marketing and creative teams to create the very makeup looks you see in Sephora’s windows, catalogue, dot.com site, and YouTube channel, Sephora TV. His motto of “Makeup should make you look and feel better” is a mainstay in his approach to beauty and continues to pave new directions in his work everyday.
