Make-up pro Joe J. Simon worked with the lovely Rachael Ray for the Jan/Feb issue of her magazine!
From his fast walk to his immersion into the diverse culture of New York City theatre, concerts, films, museums, galleries and restaurants, Joe J. Simon is a true New Yorker! The same way that Joe is captivated by the city carries over to the way that he becomes inspired by his surroundings on a shoot. Born in the Bronx, NY, he and his family moved to Florida where he attended University of Florida to study art. After he began his career in graphic art and fashion illustration, he realized makeup was his true calling. Joe prides himself on being the utmost professional- from always being punctual, to listening to what the client wants and to paying close attention on the set. He is an avid yoga practitioner, which in turn helps him to create a relaxing work environment. Joe is known for his ability to create anything from a natural beach look to all out glam while keeping the individual in mind and tailoring the makeup to bring out the best in them. The greatest compliment for Joe is when the shoot is over, models and celebrities alike feel so comfortable in their makeup that they leave with it on (and we know how most like to take it off right away!) Well regarded among his celebrity clients, photographers and leading fashion and beauty magazines, Joe has had the opportunity of working with top actors and singers such as Marcia Gay Harden, Hayden Panettiere, Hugh Jackman, Mariah Carey, Edie Falco, Molly Shannon, Rosario Dawson and Sara Ramirez to name a few. Joe's ability to put his client completely at ease while creating a natural yet glamorous look makes him one of todays most sought after makeup artists.
