Ana Maria’s artistry of the perfect manicure started long before her completion of a law degree in her home country of Romania. Ana-Maria likes to say she “grew up in a salon” along side her mother, aunt and two cousins. When she decided to come to America it was with the intension of continuing to study law for three more years However, her talents took her in another direction, which was giving modern manicures for top fashion magazines, renowned photographers and a host of celebrities from Mariah Carey to Claire Danes.
Recently, Ana-Maria fulfilled another dream when she opened her own full service salon in New York, Onyx Salon & Spa. When Ana-Maria isn’t at her posh salon or at a magazine shoot she finds time to travel, play tennis and volley ball!

Snowflake manicure?! NYC manicurist Ana-Maria tells us how to create the look!
- To create a fun holiday snowflake on your nail start with two coats of frosty blue polish, then take a thin brush and paint six lines in a star shape. For the top coat use a silver glitter nail polish, there you go!
