Leila Wolford

BIO

Born in west Texas, Leila Wolford moved to NYC at the age of 13 were her creativity began to flourish. Living in NYC as a teenager revolutionized her world with an opportunity to experience all many types of people, at all ages with various personalities. After studying at Simmons College in Boston, she decided to follow her heart and move back to NYC to pursue a career in fashion. Soon after her return, Leila was fortunate enough to book her first job, working with a stylist who demanded flawless work and taught her an invaluable detail to perfection, along with a skill set that is incomparable. In the following few years, she learned about the industry by working consistently in editorial, catalogue, web, and commercial, as well as working with celebrities domestically and internationally. In addition to styling independently, she branched out into film and television, working in the costume department of "Sex and the City: The Movie" and later as costume coordinator for the film, "New York, I Love You", and most recently the ABC pilot, "The Unusuals".

 

Leila has always had an interest in philosophy and gender studies, and through this has embraced the queer scene helping shape the way she sees and creates art. Heavily influenced by Warhol's mentality of "art is what you can get away with", Leila wants to evolve the future of fashion by telling stories of not-so-normal beauty through strong energy, vivid color and shapes through her own eyes. Currently, Leila revels in being a full-time fashion stylist based in NYC.
